THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR MAKING SATURDAY HAPPEN.
WE LOST $1000 ON THE SHOW DUE TO PEOPLE NOT SHOWING UP. WHILE ITS UNDERSTANDABLE FOR THOSE WHO WERE WORKING OR HAD COMMITMENTS OR WERE SIMPLY NOT INTERESTED...NO PROBLEM WITH THAT.
HOWEVER THE SAME CANNOT BE SAID OF THOSE WHO CHOSE TO CONVENIENTLY BOYCOTT OR IGNORE THIS EVENT.
WE WONDER SOMETIMES IF PEOPLE INDEED GAVE A FUCK ABOUT THE BIGGER PICTURE, FROM THE GRADUAL CULTURAL DECAY OF THE VENUE TO THE UNIQUE MIX OF BANDS.
IS THE SCENE SO FRAGMENTED NOW THAT NOBODY GIVES A FUCK ABOUT THE SUBSTATION ANYMORE?
WHO KNOWS, REALLY.
WE CANNOT SAY MUCH BECAUSE NOBODY PUT A GUN TO OUR HEADS AND FORCED US TO DO THIS.
WE DO IT ANYWAY BECAUSE WE BELIEVE IN IT, BUT IF SOMEONE ELSE THINKS DIFFERENTLY, SO BE IT.
NOT ALL ORGANIZERS CAN SAY GOOD THINGS ABOUT LOSSES IN REVENUE, BUT IT WAS THE WORTHIEST LOSS EVER.
THE SHOW WAS HONEST, BANDS PLAYING HONEST MUSIC IN THEIR OWN UNIQUE WAYS, AND NOT PLAYING MUSIC THAT IS "IN SEASON", A PROBLEM WITH PUNK IN SINGAPORE THESE DAYS.
THE SHOW WAS FILLED WITH BANDS WHO WERE NOT "COOL".
THE SHOW WAS ALSO FILLED WITH BANDS AND ATTENDEES WHO; BECAUSE OF STANCES TAKEN, DIDNT HAVE MANY FRIENDS OR FOLLOWERS.
THE TOURING ACTS WERE ALSO GREAT, ESPECIALLY ACID RAIN WHO MADE THE MOST DEFIANT STANCE OF ALL FROM BEING RIGHT WING AFFILIATED TO OUTSPOKENLY ANTI-RACIST. MUCH RESPECT!
ALL IN ALL EVERYONE HAD FUN, DESPITE THE CIRCUMSTANCES.
IT FELT TO GOOD TO BE PART OF THE FEW AND THE PROUD.
TO ALL BANDS, ATTENDEES, CREW AND OTHER SUPPORTERS OF PARIAH POGO PARTY III, THANK YOU!
STAY TRUE AND KEEP IT REAL!
